Saint-Eloy-de-Gy is a commune in the Cher departement of the Centre region of France.An area of forestry and farming comprising of two village and several hamlets situated some 5 miles (8.0 km) northwest of Bourges, at the junction of the D944 with the D160 and the D68 roads. Cher is an administrative department located in the centre of France. It is named after the Cher River.Cher is one of the original 83 departments created during the French Revolution on March 4, 1790. It was created from part of the former province of Berry. The department is part of the current administrative region of Centre (Val de Loire). It is surrounded by the departments of Indre, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret, Nievre, Allier, and Creuse.
